Explore the art of Jean-Michel Basquiat (Bah-Skee-Ah) and emulate his work using a variety of media, including paint, markers, oil sticks, and more! Guided by teaching artist Andres Salazar inside SPAM’s Cole Creativity Center, you’ll learn about Basquiat’s work and life as an artist, how art can capture your personal story, and concepts in abstract art. Students will work on 1-3 projects on paper inspired by Basquiat’s work.This single-day workshop will be taught on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
This class is for ages 16 and over. The cost of this workshop is $42 per person. All skill levels are welcome and all materials are provided. Preregistration is required and space is limited. The course will be held inside the Cole Creativity Center located at 123 N 10th St, Santa Paula, CA. Free parking is available directly behind the building and students may enter through the front or back door.
