Mixed Media Printmaking with artist Lene Toni KjeldThis 4-week course brings imagination and play to the surface. You will gain confidence by allowing yourself to be an explorer, learn how to investigate and analyse objects to use in your work. The course will take you through a range of modern printing techniques and examples of how to find and use inspiration.
You will learn the relief printing techniques of monoprint, stencil, stamps/block print, collagraph, tetra pak and/or bamboo intaglio print, frottage, mark making, abstract composition, how to build a repeat pattern and how to combine these elements of printmaking to build your creative voice.
Participants will learn some technical printing skills. Lene loves showing people that there are no set rules when it comes to being creative. I like to teach ways to be creative and how we can find inspiration in our everyday life and use it through a creative process to make art. This process is very intuitive, energizing and healing all at the same time.
At the end of this course, you will have created a large body of work, gained knowledge about mixed media printmaking and an understanding of a creative process you can adapt and apply to other areas of your creative way of living.

Lene was born and raised in Denmark, where she studied textile design at Design School Kolding, graduating in 2004 with a master specialised in surface design. An internship at Faro Disegni in Rome, gave me a great insight in the surface design industry. The studio was based on artistic talent and most of their work was hand drawn, which still today is an important process in my own work.
The Art Collective Project is offered and facilitated through the Shiloh Creative Life Centre Charitable Trust. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to our sponsor Creative Communities NZ for supporting the Art Collective Project.
