About this Event
Mistrust in Medicine: A Community Health Conversation.
Hosted by Washington DC Alumnae Chapter and The Federal City Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
For generations, many in the Black community have carried understandable questions and concerns about the healthcare system. Experiences with misdiagnosis, unequal treatment, lack of representation in medical research, and uncertainty about medications have contributed to a deep sense of mistrust.
At the same time, many individuals and families are navigating serious health decisions every day — from understanding new diagnoses, to asking the right questions at the doctor’s office, to wondering about the long-term effects of medications and treatments.
This event was created to provide a space for honest conversation, education, and access to trusted resources.
Join us for a community health discussion that brings together healthcare professionals, researchers, community advocates, and organizations working to improve health outcomes in the Black community. Light lunch will be served.
