Volunteer numbers for this project are based on adults and children ages 11 and older. Younger children are encouraged to attend with their parents but registration is NOT needed for any child 10 and under.
What sort of work will I be doing?
LANDSCAPING:
Trim and mulch: Trim Hedges, rake out and W**d beds. Place 24 CY of hardwood mulch. Mulch campus perimeter first and then mulch residence beds if time permits. Trim branches away from buildings and garages using a pole saw.
Planting: Rototill area between south President Street driveway and fenceline and plant 30 Hosta plants and spread mulch. Remove mulch in bed behind 108 Kellogg Place and relocate, plant row of 8 Hosta plants and seed/ cover with blanket remaining area.
SKILLED LANDSCAPERS/GARDENERS: Oversee the trimming, mulching, raking and weeding of landscapes. Three experienced trimmers needed for using hedge trimmers and pole saw.
CLEANING: Apply Mold Armor to south garage, scrub and rinse.
PAINTING: Scrape and paint two doors and door frames on north side of President garage.
VOLUNTEERS SHOULD BRING (If you are able):
- WATER to drink
- Safety goggles
- Gardening Gloves
- Wheelbarrows (8 needed)
- Cordless Hedge Trimmer
- Stepladder
- Hose and nozzle
- Rakes
- Shovels
- Trowels
- Shears
- Painting clothes if painting
- OPTIONAL: Hat, Sunscreen, and Bug Spray
