Myna Academy of Performing Arts invites you to Mission Joy, its first annual showcase - an unforgettable evening of music, dance, theatre and storytelling celebrating the transformative power of the arts, hosted by the inimitable Rajit Kapur.
Featuring 60+ students of all ages guided by 15+ teachers (Sanjukta Wagh, Aditi Bhagwat, Kalyanni Vrajesh, Kunaal Sangtani, Pooja Radhakrishnan, Dr. Sangeeta Pethkar, Milind Singh, Debalina Chaterji, Sayuri Nilam Nitin, Amanda Ferreira, Sujesh Menon, Amaaya Saxena, Sanjay Parghi, Nigel Pereira and Priyanka Babbar) who will also be performing with their students. They bring together classical and contemporary performance including Hindustani vocal, Hindustani Devotional, Carnatic vocal, Kathak, Lavani, Contemporary Dance, Western Vocals, Bollywood Light vocals, Piano, Guitar and Nrityayoga.
The evening is woven together by a whimsical theatrical story about a distant planet called Dukhudaasighamrona — the most technologically advanced yet most unhappy planet in the galaxy. Its ruler Mr. Boohoohoo sends the gloomy Sadlings on an interplanetary mission to Earth to discover the secret of human happiness.
As the Sadlings observe the students of Myna sing, dance and create, something unexpected begins to happen. Slowly, joy reveals itself... Even the mechanical Roboto finds himself tapping his metal feet.
By the end of the evening, their mission transforms from investigation to celebration — and the audience becomes part of the discovery.
