The Country Soul Sessions would like to invite you to an evening of Blues, Soul, Rock ’N’ Roll, Pop and of course some Country Soul ♩♫ ♩ ♪ ♬ ♪Miraculous Mule
We are delighted to say that the fabulous Miraculous Mule are returning to the Country Soul Sessions. Formed in 2010 this London band have followed their own inimitable path entertaining audiences on the way with their blues driven vibe. Now a quartet Miraculous Mule are fronted by former Dream City Film Club member and acclaimed solo artist Michael J Sheehy. The lineup also includes Alex Louise Petty vocals, Patrick McCarthy vocals/bass and Ian Burns on drums. In 2022 the band released their ‘lockdown’ reflective 4th long player ‘Old Bones, New Fire’ to fine reviews and general mass approval. This record captures them in stripped back mode returning to their love of the early blues, gospel and folk traditions. Expect to hear great songs from as Mr Sheehy puts it "...a group of Anglo-Irish honkies who dig African-American Gospel, prison/work songs and Hillbilly music.”. Don’t miss them.

Drew Morrison and the Darkwood
The house band return to once more tread the CSS boards. The band's central vision of a music touched by influences ranging from Alt Country, Pop & Rock N' Roll all tinged with Bob Nolanesque 'golden chording' has remained focussed and realised itself into a unique sound. Expect to hear flashes of late 1960s Velvets, Jimmy Webb-esque wordplay and electrical guitar playing that has one foot in the 1950s and the other very much in the now. The Darkwood features Drew Morrison singing and guitar, George London bass & singing, Ian Gant on guitar and Nick Steyn on drums.

Paul & Pets
Paul & Pets aka Austrian musician and producer Paul Pfleger will be making his solo debut at the February Country Soul. A multi instrumentalist Mr Pfleger released his debut long player ‘Paul & Pets - Domestic Monastic’ on hip cassette tape in 2022. His songs are minimalist often lo-fi in approach and suitably for this Session he will be performing solo on piano. Recently, Paul toured with the wonderful 'Robert Rotifer & The Pétropolitans’ and opened for American outfit ’The Lemon Twigs’ during their December European tour. Having developed Paul & Pets into a 'transformable live act' Mr Pfleger apparently enjoys the occasional dive into uncharted waters and passionately embraces analog limitation in a digital age. Come and see the Man do what he does...
