BLAST is delighted to celebrate its 5th season by kicking things off with Tom Dudzick’s hit comedy Miracle on South Division Street, directed by Chris Nickerson. Performances run September 26 through October 5, 2025 at the Cider Mill Stage.
At the heart of this hilarious and touching play is the Nowak family of Buffalo, New York. Clara Nowak (Heidi Weeks) is the proud matriarch who has dedicated her life to upholding the family’s traditions and to tending a beloved neighborhood shrine built by her father. But when her daughter Ruth (Kirsten Whistle) reveals a family secret while working on her one-woman play, the story the Nowaks thought they knew about themselves begins to unravel. Add in brother Jimmy (Todd Kross), trying to balance loyalty and practicality, and sister Beverly (April Holgate), who has her own dreams of a different life, and you’ve got a family gathering full of love, laughter, and more than a few surprises.
Playwright Tom Dudzick, often called “the Catholic Neil Simon,” brings his trademark mix of humor and heart to this comedy about faith, family, and the sometimes-bumpy road to truth. Director Chris Nickerson leads the cast through a fast-paced, laugh-filled evening that will leave audiences both smiling and moved.
