We are getting ready for the second Mini Rock Rumble coming up in less than a month!
RSVP/Signup Form Here: https://forms.gle/TBhkQXyKPCScDHSm9
For this competition we will be formalizing rules and procedures to fully include 1/18th scale and 1/24th scale crawlers. Only exception is the 1/18th Capra.
We are also printing a whole new course for the 1/18th and 1/24th scale that will be more scale appropriate.
For the SCX30s we will have a whole new course layout.
See you there, and make sure you check back here, and on my YouTube channel (subscribe and smash the bell as they say) for updates!

OFFICIAL RULES
For all classes: All transmitters are allowed as long as they connect to box stock receiver/esc combos for box stock classes. Modified classes may run separate radio/receivers with their custom electronics.
BOX STOCK CLASSS SCX 30 BRONCO & JEEP
Vehicles must be box stock. Meaning all parts used on the vehicle must be parts that come stock in the box. No aftermarket or homemade/3D-printed parts may be used.
Vehicles must be configured in one of the two configurations that come from the box, or somewhere in between these two configurations. Either with the scale accessories & roof rack -or- without the scale accessories and roof rack with the replacement parts installed.
Spare tire may be removed.
Hint - you will get the most advantage by removing the scale accessories, roof rack, and spare tire, and then install the filler pieces.
NO PERMANENT MODIFICATIONS. All parts must stay in their original box stock form. A common example is cutting away portions of the part that makes up the windows on these bodies to shave weight from the top of the vehicle. Permanent modifications, such as this example and others, will move the vehicle into the modified class.
We will allow swapping of wheels/tires between the box stock tires that come with the Bronco or the Jeep. i.e. you may use the box stock Bronco wheels/tires on the Jeep and vice versa. No other wheels/tires will be allowed in this class.
No non-stock weight or brass parts may be added to the vehicle.
The overall spirit of the Box Stock class is to have the vehicles be as evenly matched as possible so that final scores come down to driver skill. You win by your driver mods alone.
You may use any transmitters that interface with the stock receiver. i.e. DX5, DX6, iXSR, SLT and their variants.

MODIFIED CLASS & K10
The K10 variant of the SCX30, even in its pure box stock form will automatically be entered into the modified class. This is due to several differences between the K10 and Bronco/Jeep variants including but not limited to motor, suspension, tire size, & body weight/CG.
No 4WS. If your rig has 4WS you must keep it in Front wheel steer mode only.
No dig.
Chassis rails must have an overall length within +/- 3mm of stock chassis. LCG chassis is permitted.
Full length body that covers chassis rails, electronics, and boatsides/skids from above.
Tire sizes will be limited to 45mm in diameter.
You may add weight anywhere on the vehicle.
You may upgrade electronics or use aftermarket electronics.
All axles & axle modifications are permitted as long as they stay true to 1/30th scale.

SCX24 & FMS24 Class
Box Stock SCX24
All BOX STOCK SCX24s are allowed in this class. No permanent modifications allowed.
Vehicle must be a complete scale build.
Removal of accessories such as spare tires, water cans, shovels, roof racks, etc. is permitted as long as filler body pieces (i.e. when removing roof racks) are installed to give the vehicle a complete look. Wheels must be stock wheels that came with the truck. Tires may be changed to any scale tire (i.e. BF Goodrich Krawlers, Interco SuperSwampers, etc.) so long as the tire does not exceed a 60mm diameter.
Modified SCX24
All modifications are allowed with the exceptions of dig, 4-wheel steer, 1.3" wheels, and tires exceeding a diameter of 64mm. Vehicle must have a body whether lexan or hard plastic that covers at least half the chassis (i.e. cab only bodies allowed).

1/18th Scale Class
Box Stock 1/18th Scale
Any TRX4M, Redcat Ascent 18 (not apex), HPI Venture 18, FMS 18 that is box stock will be allowed. Removal of scale accessories such as spare tires, water cans, shovels, roof racks, etc. is permitted as long as filler body pieces (i.e. when removing roof racks) are installed to give the vehicle a complete look. Wheels must be stock wheels that came with the truck. Tires may be changed to any scale tire (i.e. BF Goodrich Krawlers, Interco SuperSwampers, etc.) so long as the tire does not exceed a 62mm diameter.
Modified 1/18th Scale
All modifications are allowed with the exceptions of dig, 4-wheel steer, and tires exceeding 66mm. Wheels with a diameter of 1.3" will be allowed in this class, and the Redcat Ascent 18 Apex (and vehicles like it) is allowed in this class. Vehicle must have a body whether lexan or hard plastic that covers at least half the chassis (i.e. cab only bodies allowed).

Minimum gate widths for classes will be as follows:
SCX30 - 4 inches
SCX24/FMS24 - 6.5 inches
1/18th Scale - 7 inches

SCORING
This is like golf. The lowest score wins. In the case of a tie, winner will be determined by the time it took them to complete the course - lowest time will win.
THERE IS NO REVERSE PENALTY
PENALTIES
Gate Marker Touch -- +10 points
Vehicle touch (hand of god) -- +10 points
Rollover Recovery (i.e. vehicle rolls, but you recover without touching the vehicle) -- +5 points
DNF -- Disqualification
SUCCESSES
Clearing a gate without a gate touch -- -1 points
An example of how scoring can work:
We have Van, Gina, and Richard. They complete the same course with 10 gates.
Van gets two gate touches and a rollover recovery for a total of 17. (Penalties total of 25, perfect gates -8). He completes in 3:29.
Gina gets 3 rollover recoveries, and one gate touch for a total score of 16. (Penalties of 25, and perfect gates -9). She completes in 3:41.
Richard gets 1 gate touch, 1 hand of god, and 1 rollover recovery for a total of 16 (Penalties of 25, and perfect gates -9). He completes the course in 3:44.
Because we have a tie between Richard and Gina, Gina wins since she completed the course in less time. Richard still comes in 2nd place because he had a lower score than Van, so Van comes in third.
LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING EVERYONE FOR THE COMPETITION!
