There's a new frontier in the "science of mind" - learning how to manage feelings when we're overwhelmed. Come and learn some strategies!
About this Event

It’s easy in today’s world to feel overwhelmed - there’s so much input always coming to us from social media, television, and other channels. This information overload, coupled with life obligations, can make a person feel frozen, restless, or somehow both!

When there are too many things pulling at one’s attention, it can be hard to motivate ourselves for self-care, even if activities like mindfulness meditation have helped in the past.

Dr. Julie (a research scientist) and Lama Kathy (a meditation instructor) will instruct in short and simple practices - the best way to do them, and about the science of social support too!

We will show how mindfulness helps close many of those “browser tabs” in one’s mind, freeing up the breathing room needed to take back the reins of life.

You’ll leave with knowledge of practical, on-the-go exercises, and we’ll engage in some role play application to common troubles!

TICKETS for this COSI Science Festival event are available through 7 PM on Thursday April 30. We would appreciate a donation of $1 or more to defray costs, but if you do not have financial means, please feel welcome to obtain a Free Ticket.
