About this Event
If you’re tired of being told to “just breathe” while your brain feels like it has 50 tabs open, this is for you.
In a world that keeps us on high alert, finding a moment of true quiet can feel impossible. Join us for a 90-minute outdoor experience focused on grounding & connection. Set in an outdoor environment, this workshop offers a structured yet gentle space to slow down & reconnect through sensory & embodied practices. This isn’t a typical "meditation circle." This is a professionally guided experience designed to help you physically "unplug" and bring your nervous system back to a state of calm.
Led by Jess Homan (a trauma-specialist and therapist) and Sheena Hanscel (Founder of The Pollen Patch and former therapist), this workshop uses the beauty of the garden as a tool to help you reconnect with your body and quiet the noise of the modern world.
What to Expect:
- The Reset Sequence: Jess will lead a gentle series of body-based movements designed to lower stress hormones and physically "reset" your internal alarm system.
- Physiological Grounding: Using reflective music and nature, we’ll be getting out of our heads and back into our senses. Using simple, earth-based practices—like hands in the soil or bare feet on the grass—we give the brain the "safety signals" it needs to drop the stress of the week.
- Custom Tea Blending: Led by Sheena, you’ll craft your own herbal tea bag using a blend of calming & flavorful herbs. We’ll sip together, practicing the art of "glimmering"—the simple but powerful act of noticing & soaking in micro-moments of peace.
- A Ritual of Release: We’ll use a brief fire-based ritual to help you "unload" the mental weight you’ve been carrying, letting go of stressors in a supportive, zero-pressure space.
- The Living Reminder: To take the peace home with you, we’ll plant our compostable tea bags into pots with native plant seeds. This acts as a "living anchor"—as the seeds grow at your home, they serve as a daily reminder of the grounding and intentions you found in the garden.
- The Pollen Patch Tour: Sheena will lead a guided walk through the garden, sharing how nature and native plants can be our best allies in finding daily balance.
This experience is designed to be inclusive & adaptable. You’re invited to participate at your own pace, with options for quiet reflection or light connection with others. Some chairs & blankets will be provided. Feel free to bring a blanket, towel, or your own chair if you would like! Please contact Jess Homan with any additional questions at [email protected].
Free parking available! Turn onto W Morrill Ave from South High St and you will see this parking lot on your right. Parking spaces are extra long so double parking is permitted. Additional free parking available on South High St. Enter the garden through the dark green metal gate shown in the photo.
