“The basis for the practice of meditation is appreciation. Every breath we take is a gift, naturally pure and good. We appreciate every pebble in the riverbed, every apple on the tree. Ordinary activities are in themselves powerful and worth appreciating.”― Chögyam Trungpa, Mindfulness in Action: Making Friends with Yourself through Meditation and Everyday Awareness
Join us in the practice of appreciation with flowers. Ikebana is a Japanese art that arranges flowers and other natural materials to express aspects such as appreciating the present moment, not judging or imposing control, and meditating experientially with our senses
If you would like to arrange flowers during the evening, please bring a small selection of flowers, branches, bark, or stones. It would be best if your selection contained different sizes. A good selection of flowers for purchase is at Publix with a selection of flowers for $4. Another good selection is Trader Joe’s. Please feel free to bring material from your home. Any combination is fine. It is also not necessary to bring material--that is perfectly fine also.

A light meal will be offered at 6:00 pm, followed by the class at 7:00.
While this is a more hands-on experience, Zoom attendance is fine. Zoom folks can use simple things from their home. For those unable to attend live at the Center, there is a Zoom link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88296841757?pwd=hRUBlVlGuMkJWTF6fDIot1bRJHRCyq.1
