About this Event

What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is the practice of bringing gentle, non-judgmental awareness to the present moment, just as it is. It invites us to notice our thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations with openness and curiosity, rather than getting caught up in them or trying to push them away. It is not about clearing the mind or “doing it right”, but about learning a different way of relating to our experience.


What is Mindfulness heplful for?

Regular mindfulness practice is associated with:

  • Reduced stress and mental overwhelm
  • Greater emotional balance and resilience
  • Improved focus and clarity
  • A deeper sense of connection to yourself and your surroundings
  • Learning to respond to life with more choice and less reactivity

Many people find that mindfulness helps them feel more grounded, steady, and able to navigate the pressures of everyday life.


About This Event
This 8-week experiential workshop series invites you to explore mindfulness for stress reduction/prevention and overall wellbeing. We'll explore different forms of mindfulness together in a small group, including:

  • guided seated exercises
  • mindfulness of the breath
  • mindfulness of the senses
  • body awareness practices,
  • mindful movement and walking in the beautiful grounds of The Retreat, York.

You will leave each session with simple practices you can bring into daily life.

People who want to reduce stress, cultivate calm, be present, and live with greater focus and connection.


Facilitated by
Dr Victoria Brattan, Clinical Psychologist with personal and professional experience in mindfulness-based approaches.

Fees

You can sign up for the 8 sessions (Full Series Pass) for £100, or drop-in for £15 each session (please email me for this option).

*If you come by car, there is free parking, and you will be directed by a gateman.
