I will be starting another Mindfulness course in Wenvoe church hall on Tuesday 2nd September there will be 8 sessions in total, every Tuesday - This course is open to anyone - whether you know something or nothing at all about mindfulness - practiced regularly this can really help with stress, anxiety, depression or just feeling overwhelmed. I’ve put some info below about Mindfulness. If it’s something you may be interested in please send me a direct messageMindfulness: It’s really normal for us to spend much of our day thinking or worrying about things that have happened in the past or may happen in the future. Our brain does this because it’s how it attempts to keep us safe and thinking like this dates back to much more primitive times when life was more dangerous than it is now. however our brain still tends to operate that way. The consequence of this is that we are not fully present in our lives on a daily basis. What I mean by this is that It’s common to be on autopilot to such an extent that when finish something, we may not have that much memory of actually doing it because our minds have been elsewhere - sound familiar? Mindfulness teaches how to become more present - not something achievable overnight but with practice it can be quite life changing. I’ll be talking more about this each week as well as guiding some lovely meditations - no requirement to sit in the lotus position or to try and reach enlightenment!. And you definitely won’t be trying to clear your mind - that’s a myth. Ultimately, with practice, Mindfulness can lead to less worry, anxiety and more calm. This course is taught in an entirety secular way so open to people of all faiths or no faith
