Here is a bio for Peter Okell-Walker:
Tango lovers often say it’s all about connection. Connection with our partner, the ronda and connection with the music. But dancers have no control over the music, even though it has a huge emotional influence on their connection.
I’ve been deeply involved with music my whole life, although I didn’t discover tango until my 50s. It was one of those life changing moments, and there was no going back.
Dancing several times a week and playing live music at Milongas, I progressively “retired” from consulting in organisations. Combining my coaching and music experience with Jennifer’s organising skills, we ran our own tango community full time. Off and on we have been teaching and I’ve been DJing ever since.
As a DJ, I’m passionate about combining the essential ingredients of the music - the choice of content, the flow of the playlist, and (too often overlooked) the quality of the sound. When in harmony they unite to create a wonderful connection and, literally, a moving experience.
