About this Event
This is a two-hour walking tour around Belfast City Centre featuring 12 women who were either Millies, Militants, or both!
You'll learn about some of the women who helped shape and define this city including:
- The woman who brought the largest linen mill in Europe to a standstill in the 1930's
- The two women brought together by a tragic event who went on to organise some of the largest peace marches in Ireland
- The woman who almost lost her job after protesting for her right to vote
- And many others!
So come and hear about some women fought for our rights inside and outside the mill gates!
This is a unique opportunity to learn about some of the unsung heroines of the city. Your guide, Emma Casey, is a Qualified Tour Guide who delivers a number of Women’s Walking Tours in Belfast.
The tour departs from the front entrance of Belfast City Hall. Please arrive in good time for a prompt departure at 11:00 and dress appropriately for the weather.
