Miami Poetry Club offers No-Cost, 2x monthly writer's workshops that are open to writers of all levels and genres. We turn blank pages and stages into community by helping writers write, refine, and recite their work.

Generative Workshop:

We'll give you a surprise writing prompt & excercise, time and space to write, and then the opportunity to share on a microphone if you want to.
Bring a notebook, paper, pen/pencil, or electronic device!
Writer's Lab, Feedback Workshop:

Bring a work in progress * and share it within a breakout small group of writers to better hear your voice and get feedback from other writers to help you improve your piece.

- Or bring yout own 6 copies of your work in progress
- Limited printing time is available at the venue.
- If you need printing, email to [email protected] by [12pm] on the day of the event.
We promise, even on your first time, you will want to share! Prepare something to email even if you think you might not want to share, so you can be prepared.

Mission:
Miami Poetry Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose mission is to provide inclusive accessible poetry education and events to amplify and enrich the lives of Miamians through the transformational power of writing and community.
Who We Serve:
Miami Poetry Club welcomes established, emerging and writers who’ve never even considered themselves writers at all. Our community reflects Miami itself: multigenerational, multicultural, multilingual, and diverse in socioeconomic background. Out of town guests also join our events, so our events go beyond supporting South Florida.
How We Reach Our Community (Programming) :
3 FREE CONSISTENT MONTHLY EVENTS: We have dedicated these 3 events to be completely free and offer a high value to all participants, with interactive programing, education, connection and fun!
WRITE & REFINE: Two No-Cost Workshops (Generative Workshop/Writer's Lab Feedback Workshop)
RECITE: Monthly performance event Palms & Poetry Open Mic hosted generously by Books & Books in Coral Gables.
Beyond this, MPC brings poetry and writing into public life through community partnerships, immersive events, and digital platforms. There are either ticketed or Free. Whether at an art gallery, local film festival, pop up workshop, collaboration, or at a city event, we want to inspire Miamians from all walks of life to have access to the joy and power of words. We aim to inspire our community members to create their own poetry events, and we uplift those too!
