DETAILS
Mixote is a traditional pit-barbecued meat dish from central Mexico in which the meat is cooked inside a wrapper, often prepared during special occasions. Anhelo's recipe comes specially from her father's hometown Actopan, Hidalgo.
With both chicken and lamb options available, Anhelo will be marinating the meat with adobo and nopales (cactus leaves), plus flavoring it with avocado leaves. The meat will be accompanied with corn tortillas, salsa, rice, and black beans.
