About this Event
On March 27, 1976, the very first Metro train pulled into Rhode Island Ave station - just steps from where metrobar stands today.
Fifty years later, the Metro remains one of the most powerful forces of connection in our city. It links all eight wards, carries neighbors across every corner of DC, and reminds us that this city - in all its diversity and energy - belongs to everyone.
That spirit of connection is at the heart of everything we do at metrobar. From our programming to our people, we've always tried to reflect all eight wards, all of us.
So come celebrate 50 years of the system that makes it possible. Raise a glass to the Red Line, the riders, and the city we share. We're honored to throw this party in the Metro's own backyard. ๐๐
