About this Event
Mestre Cabello’s been in the Capoeira game since the ’80s—traveling the world, teaching and performing since 1990. With over 30 years of experience in Capoeira Angola, he reps as a dedicated student and senior practitioner under the legendary Mestre João Grande.
His craft goes beyond the roda—he’s also tapped into Afro-Brazilian rhythms and dance, learning from Professora Emilia Biancardi and master drummer Jorge Alabê, keeping those cultural roots alive and moving.
Based in Serra Grande - Bahia, Mestre Cabello runs the Barracão d’Angola cultural center—a hub for creating, teaching, and preserving Afro-Brazilian culture. His mission? Keep Capoeira Angola thriving, protect the environment through cultural wisdom, uplift local youth through art and opportunity, and build stronger, self-sustaining communities from the ground up.
