You’re invited to Chicago Socialist Alternative’s first-ever MARXMAS HOLIDAY FUNDRAISER!
2025 has been a difficult year for working people. Trump 2.0 has been a political earthquake, leaving no corner of social and political life untouched. In less than one year, Trump and the right wing have unleashed relentless attacks on oppressed people and the working class, including terror against immigrant workers, dehumanizing measures aimed at trans people, devastating austerity, and the decimation of a substantial section of the unionized public sector — and Congress, the courts, and the Capitalist class at home and abroad have been forced (or all too willing) to accept his course.
Chicago Socialist Alternative, in solidarity with branches across the country and International Socialist Alternative, refuses to accept Trump’s attacks. We’ve been in the streets with working people all over the country and globe since day one of Trump’s second administration, and we’re not stopping any time soon.
But even socialists take a night off once in a while! And we’d like for you to join us for a night of socializing and solidarity with like-minded people in the lead-up to the holidays!
Taking place SUNDAY, DECEMBER 21 at our long-time community partner, Grace Church of Logan Square (3325 W Wrightwood Ave), Chicago Socialist Alternative’s Marxmas Holiday Fundraiser will feature:
- A screening of It’s A Wonderful Life
- Baked goods created right here in Chicago by our members
- Socialist swag for sale
- Raffle items you can win
- Apple cider, hot cocoa, soft drinks, and alcoholic beverages for sale
- Political discussion about socialism and the fight against Trump and the rotten capitalist system that produced him
Since this is a fundraiser, we’ll have different tiers of tickets available:
- $10: 1 raffle ticket, 1 drink ticket
- $15: 2 raffle tickets, 1 drink ticket
- $20: 3 raffle tickets, 1 drink ticket
We recognize that funds are hard to come by for all working people right now. We recognize that any support will be a sacrifice and we deeply appreciate your solidarity — and we aim to make this event worth it! If you really want to come and you can’t scrape anything up, please swing by anyway.
