Please join us at Bank Square Books for a reading by James Merrill Fellow, João Tordo. João has published 17 novels and 2 books of non-fiction. Occasionally, he also writes for TV and film, including two Netflix Originals. In 2009 he received the José Saramago Literary Prize. Since then, his novels have been published in several countries and languages, and he received the Fernando Namora Literary
Prize in 2021. He has also been shortlisted for numerous awards, such as the Pen Club Literary Prize or the European Literary Award. He received fellowships from Macdowell, Château de Lavigny, Conseil des Arts de Montreal and Ledig House, among others. He also works as a writing teacher and has a side project — MARIA GIBSON — of solo guitar work. He lives in Lisbon. All of his books are published by
Penguin Random House.
