Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders.
Virtual Blended Learning Format:
First Aiders will complete a 2-hour, self-paced online class, and then participate in a live Instructor-Led Session (ILS) via Zoom.

What does Mental Health First Aid Adult training cover?
This training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care.
- Common signs and symptoms of mental illness and substance use.
- Depression, anxiety, and psychosis.
- How to interact with a person in crisis.
- How to connect the person with help.
- How to apply the 5-step action plan in a variety of situations.
- Updated content on trauma, addiction, and self-care.
Who Should Take it?
The Adult MHFA course is appropriate for anyone in the US (18 years and older) who wants to learn how to help a person who may be experiencing a mental health-related crisis or problem.

After registering:
- No less than 10 business days before the event- A "Welcome" email with instructions on how to access and complete your MHFA Connect profile.
- C omplete your MHFA Connect profile (AFTER receiving the "welcome" email.)- 10 minutes
- Complete the MHFA Introduction Course- A Self-paced, self-study online course to prepare you for the skills-based session with your instructor. -2 hours
- D ownload/Print the course materials- on the MHFA Connect portal
- A ctively participate in the Instructor-Led skills-based session (ILS) on Zoom (9:00-4:30 CST)
PLEASE READ:
Tickets CAN NOT BE REFUNDED, this includes being withdrawn from the course due to incomplete pre-course work (due before you may attend the instructor-led session). However, you may be able to reschedule for another date within 60 days of the initial ILS date through September 30, 2023)
*In the event you reschedule your ILS date, all of the completed pre-work will not be saved and will need to be completed again before the new training date.
