About this Event

Join us for our November Members Dinner as we welcome special guest Sonja Anderson—author, educator, and librarian—for an engaging evening of community and conversation as she shares about her heartwarming book, A Christmas Wish for Little Dala Horse.

Sonja is a certified librarian and teacher with an EdM from Harvard University. Her passion for education and storytelling has taken her around the world—including three years teaching at an international school for boys in Tokyo, Japan. Now based in Seattle, Washington, Sonja works full-time in an elementary school library, where she continues to nurture a love of reading in young minds.

She is the author of the delightful middle-grade Adventures of Sophie Topfeather series, which is being re-released by Brimstone Fiction—including the exciting addition of a brand-new third book, Sophie’s Gold Rush.

Come enjoy a warm meal, connect with fellow members, and hear from Sonja as she shares her journey as a writer, educator, and storyteller.

About the book: A Christmas Wish for Little Dala Horse, is heartwarming Juletide adventure and an enchanting Swedish Christmas tale about showing kindness and love like Saint Lucia. Little Dala Horse knows nothing of Juletide or of love—he’s just been newly carved as a Christmas gift. He’s eager to learn about the Saint Lucia girl with a crown of glowing candles, the festive star boys, and the cute pepparkakor children. Little Dala Horse jumps into a boy’s pocket and experiences the Saint Lucia pageant for the first time. At first, Little Dala is shy and hides, but when a small gingerbread girl is scared to go on stage for her dance, Little Dala finds courage to help her overcome her fear.
