About this Event
Join Melanated Meeples MKE for an afternoon of strategy, creativity, and community as we explore one of the most popular mechanics in modern board games: worker placement.
In worker placement games, players send their workers to different locations on the board to gather resources, trigger actions, and build their strategy. Each space can only hold so many workers, so timing and planning matter. Do you claim the action you need now, or wait and risk someone else taking it first?
This session will feature three beautiful and approachable games:
Everdell – Build a charming woodland city of critters and constructions while sending workers to gather resources through the changing seasons.
Flamecraft – Visit magical shops in a fantasy town where adorable artisan dragons help craft goods and boost the town’s prosperity.
The Pursuit of Happiness – Guide a character through life choices like careers, relationships, and hobbies in a thoughtful game about balancing ambition and well-being.
Whether you’re brand new to modern board games or already love strategic play, we’ll teach the games and help get everyone started.
Come learn a new mechanic, meet fellow gamers, and spend the afternoon playing great games together.
