Megalab is proud to invite you to the launch of MegaStudio, a new venture studio dedicated to helping physicians and nurses transform their medical innovations into reality. This event is designed for clinical professionals who want to take the next step in accelerating their entrepreneurial journeys. We also welcome our academic and ecosystem supporters to learn and celebrate.

Kirusha Srimohanarajah, P.Eng., MBA Candidate
An expert in bringing products to market and leading multidisciplinary teams, Kirusha excels at transforming complex problems into commercially released products. She directs MegaStudio and is a specialist at working with physicians to convert their ideas into products and product features. Her expertise spans neurosurgical devices, medical imaging systems, life support systems, and beyond. Kirusha has over 13 granted patents and numerous pending applications. She frequently guest lectures on medical device development topics at the University of Waterloo, University of British Columbia, and the University of Victoria. She serves as the Education Chair for the Professional Engineers of Ontario - Kingsway Chapter. In her spare time she is completing her MBA at Johns Hopkins University with a specialisation in Health Care Innova
Garry Lee, P.Eng.
President of MegaLab, Garry Lee is an Entrepreneur, Investor, and Strategic Business Leader. He is the Founder and Partner of MegaLab Group Inc., an ISO 17025 Accredited engineering and independent environmental testing firm, and Director of Cortex Design Inc., a leading medical design, engineering, and manufacturing firm. Garry previously founded Global Advantage Int. & Global EMC Inc., which grew to become one of Canada’s largest product safety certification firms for medical equipment, telecom, and IT industries, with over 25 engineers and revenue exceeding $10M annually. Both organizations were acquired by TUV SUD America Inc. in 2016. Garry specializes in assisting clients through regulatory and testing processes, ensuring their products are ready for international markets.
Vince Hamilton, P.Chem.
Vince has over 30 years of experience in business development, production, and product/project management, as well as core technology research and development. His expertise includes mass spectrometers, biosensors, QMS, vacuum devices, ion transportation, and troubleshooting related to scientific instrumentation. Vince has held C-level roles in Ontario and Federal private and public sectors, focusing on R&D and operations management. He is currently helping MEGALAB Inc. develop solutions for Product Development Organizations in the medical and scientific instrumentation industry, as well as quality engineering for high-end instrumentation manufacturers.
Dylan Horvath C.I.D
Dylan holds a degree in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo, class of 1997. He founded Cortex Design in 1999 to create impactful designed experiences that substantially improve human quality of life. In his time growing Cortex into a leading product development firm within Canada, Dylan has worn almost every hat in the organization — from industrial designer to embedded systems engineer to mechatronics designer to international production liaison on dozens of trips to China.
Today, Dylan provides leadership and coaching to the team, sets strategic objectives, and provides a positive work culture within which the staff can succeed. Through coaching, mentorship and guidance, Dylan holds the final accountability to deliver great project outcomes to our clients. Dylan is a co-inventor on 11 utility patents (and counting) and has won numerous awards including the Bold Epic Innovator X-Prize for Cloud DX’s Vitaliti Tricorder “Doctor in a box”. His work has appeared in Popular Science, The Huffington Post, The Globe and Mail, Forbes, and Canadian Business’s Fastest Growing Companies.
In addition to leading Cortex, Dylan is the co-president of the Association of Canadian Industrial Designers and a regular speaker at events where he advocates for the power of design to expand human capability.
Daniel Ziskind, Bsc
Daniel is an experienced expert in quality systems and regulatory affairs, specializing in various medical device including Stereotactic Image-Guided Surgery, direct imaging systems, cardiovascular and neurovascular catheters, radiofrequency ablation devices, etc. His in-depth knowledge of product development has helped numerous startups and established companies navigate FDA, EU, Health Canada, and Australian TGA quality and regulatory requirements, meeting international standards, ensuring successful market entry. Daniel’s expertise spans product development, commercialization, and strategic partnerships, making him a vital resource for any medical device venture looking to accelerate its path to market.
Peyvand Melati, MBA
Peyvand Melati is a seasoned entrepreneur and investor with a strong track record in launching and scaling successful ventures, particularly in the MedTech, AI, and IoT sectors. Recognized for his strategic insight and ability to prioritize effectively, he has a talent for building and leading high-performing teams that drive business growth. As the CEO of Micro Interface Design, a leading design and manufacturing company based in Markham, and a General Partner at Archangel Network of the Fund, an early-stage investment fund, Peyvand plays a key role in guiding companies from inception to market success.
