Megadog returns to Manchester. As the night that always demanded that you ‘Feed Your Head’, this pivotal club night returns to its spiritual home in the North to nurture the needs of electronic renegades and beat-hungry clubbers. 31 years since it first reared its hedonistic head at Manchester Academy, we are delighted to announce that this legendary club night that combined live bands, DJ’s and circus performance with sumptuous lighting and production will return for All-dayer on the 28th September from 3-12midnght.
Doors from 2pm
This seminal party series was a formidable force during the 1990’s and was a night that was never afraid to move ahead of the times and push boundaries. A pioneer that offered a live stage to fledgling electronic artists, Megadog over the years have hosted magical, mind-blowing events.
With line-up’s that have included the godfathers of techno Orbital, IDM inventor Aphex Twin, Underworld, The Psychic Warriors Ov Gaia and sets from Transglobal Underground, Renegade Soundwave, Speedy J, + virtually every live electronic and dance-crossover band that burned bright during the 90‘s, Megadog stood as a benchmark for unmissable, iconic nights in the clubbing calendar. Each event united strangers from far and wide, providing the score to euphoric nights that sounded like endless summers, providing a sensory universe for Megadog’s loyal fans to lose themselves in golden nights, weekends and even weeks on end.
Having hosted 34 Megadog events at Manchester Academy, the last Megadog back in 2015, sold out and people loved it - the venue provided one roof where house, techno, tech-house, trance, psytrance, jungle, dub, drum’n’bass and other myriad genres were refracted into one technicolour clubbing paradise. On Saturday 28th of September Megadog will return for an all-new bash of momentous scale especially for the Manchester Academy’ All-Day event that will unite generations of clubbers old and new, rekindling the memories of those hazy days and recreating them in an all-new lucid dream. SPEEDY J:
SPEEDY J (Jochem is celebrating his 30th Anniversary in the business in 2024) Legendary techno dj/producer from hailing from Rotterdam we are delighted to welcome Speedy J back... the last time was back in 1995! And he blew the roof off!
ULTRAMARINE:
ULTRAMARINE the UK electronic duo, performing their Classic much loved 1992 (Rough Trade) Album Every Man Every Woman is a Star, last played Manchester Megadog back in 1994 with their pastoral Techno. Welcome back Ian and Paul!
LEEROY THORNHILL PRODIGY DJ set:
LEEROY first graced us with his presence at the Phoenix Festival a part of The Prodigy (Megadog Stage) set back in 1996 and again last year 2023 Megadogs Friday infiltration of The Magical Sounds dance tent at Bearded Theroy Festival with his electrifying breakbeat DJ set and he smashed it!
DUTTY MOONSHINE (DJ set) + HYPE MAN SAGE:
Dutty Moonshine has achieved huge success with his band Dutty Moonshine Big Band who have had a No1 dance album and a top 40 album
Dutty Moonshine + Hype Man Sage smashed it last year on the Friday Megadog edition of the Magical Sounds dance tent at Bearded Theory Festival, so we ask the boys back again - ouch!!!
HANS DELBRUCK:
A veteran of the Manchester Acid Techno scene and the legendary club HAVOK!!
HARRY aka HANS DELBRUCK with release on some of the most prolific labels out there including, Dolma/Hardwandler/Wicked/Oxytech. Hans' hybrid live sets are a force to be reckoned with. Dark atmospheric soundscapes an infectious grooves.
