Lee Southwick is a meteorologist for First Coast News. She graduated from Fernandina Beach High School, received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida, and acquired her Master of Science from Mississippi State University. Before returning home to the First Coast, she worked in Montgomery, AL, and New Orleans, LA, where she won a Murrow Award and Emmy Award for her tornado coverage and two Emmys for hurricane coverage. She is thrilled to now be serving her home community. In her presentation, she will cover topics like the preparation aspects of getting ready for a newscast. This includes research, forecast and presentation tools, coordination with other departments, and more.
