In dit project worden de betoverende klanken van klassieke Arabische muziek, de soulvolle melodieรซn van Rebetiko en de majestueuze tonen van de Ottomaanse traditie verweven met elkaar. Zeven getalenteerde muzikanten, afkomstig uit Syriรซ, Turkije en Griekenland, combineren hun diverse achtergronden om een unieke muzikale ervaring te creรซren die culturen verbindt en grenzen overstijgt. Met hun innovatieve aanpak harmoniseren ze deze traditionele stijlen met Westerse klassieke instrumenten, waardoor een frisse, eigentijdse sound ontstaat die de authentieke essentie van Makam-muziek behoudt.

"To Cairo" forms the third chapter of the Istanbul Midnight series by the Mediterraneo band. In this project, the enchanting sounds of classical Arabic music, the soulful melodies of Rebetiko, and the majestic tones of the Ottoman tradition are intertwined. Seven talented musicians from Syria, Turkey, and Greece combine their diverse backgrounds to create a unique musical experience that bridges cultures and transcends borders. With their innovative approach, they harmonize these traditional styles with Western classical instruments, resulting in a fresh, contemporary sound that preserves the authentic essence of Makam music.
