I’ve been there. As a recovered type “A”, stressed, over achiever & workaholic I can imagine the suffering you’re experiencing


Years ago I was doing what I loved for work and reaching all of my goals, but I was suffering immensely from chronic stress, overwhelm, anxiety, depression, and ultimately burnout.

As a driven high performer I tried so many things that didn’t work long term, but once I found meditation it changed my life. In 2005 I enrolled in an immersive month-long certification course.

I emerged from that program a different person. I finally had relief from my terrible suffering and became calmer, happier, more focused, and much more in control of my stress and emotions, and ultimately my life.

I’ve been passionate about learning as much as I can and sharing these practices with others ever since. Through this work I’ve learned the many solutions to the problems and challenges that have stopped overwhelmed achievers from sustaining their meditation practice and I’d love to share them with you. There’s four of them that a Community of Practice is the perfect environment for. I call them the four pillars of sustained practice.

In each session you’ll experience the four pillars of sustained meditation practice, the four critical components for staying connected to your practice over time


Sometimes we fall off of our practice and need a touch point to reinvigorate our momentum and inspiration. It's normal and it happens to all of us. Life gets in the way. Priorities get skewed. But we can get back to it, especially if we engage with certain practices and strategies like these.


The four pillars we’ll work with:


? Restorative Practice Sessions

Longer practice sessions for deeper relief of stress, overwhelm, burnout and a deeper effect on the nervous system. We’ll engage in both movement based practice, and sitting or supine (lying down) practice. If longer practice is a challenge for you because of an overactive mind or difficulty sitting still, we will work with these as well. Practices vary each month.


? Guided Reflection

Time and space for written and verbal reflection, both on your own and sharing with others in ways you’re comfortable with. Reflection is critical for presence and for making immediate and lasting change.


? Deeply Supportive Community

Built via layered strategies that foster comfort, relationships, rapport and authentic connection across the group. You’ll experience a great sense of support from me, your dedicated instructor, and a sense of congruity with your fellow classmates. We're not meant to go through lifes ups and downs alone. Community is invaluable for making change, transformation, wellness, and longevity.


? Memorable, Fulfilling Content

Created by a common theme weaved throughout the session to cultivate courage, inspiration, joy and love. The theme will be new each month and based on anatomy, nature, a foundational teaching, a classical teaching, or something more personal. It will be the common thread running through the session's mindfulness practices, poems, stories, and strategies.

When these four pillars are combined, they create an effect similar to the relief experienced when taking a vacation. But many times a vacation supports just physical and mental rest and might not be thorough enough for the restorative effects and healing of the nervous system you're craving.
