In conversation with the House of Ideas: Plants in Art exhibition, this workshop provides space for us to learn, relearn and creatively explore our relationships to plants, medicine, and body with guidance from Chinese Medicine. Framed under the Five Elements in Chinese Medicine–Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, Wood–this workshop will explore how we can nourish ourselves with plants and the element of Water. Through discussion, herbalism, and reflection, participants will find space to move and adapt through winter, cold, and fear. Isabel Lu, MPH, RD, is a Raleigh-based artist, registered dietitian, and researcher whose work unpacks rigid, violent, and binary concepts of health and medicine through Western and Eastern perspectives.
