Have some gently used outdoor gear that deserves a new home for adventure? Rent a table and sell (or swap!) your gear at the MEC Gear Swap.
New for 2026: Due to popular demand, our Gear Swap has been extended to two days! Rent a table on Sat only, Sun only, or both days. Choose your preferred day when selecting tickets (if you're attending the whole weekend, you'll need to rent a table for both days).
Dates: Sat, May 2 & Sun, May 3, 2026.
Time: 9am - 1pm each day.
Table rentals are just $20 (+ fees) per day. All proceeds from table rentals will go to the local Alpine Club of Canada Section.
Weather note: The Gear Swap will take place outside, rain or shine! Please dress according to the weather and come prepared to spend the day outside. You may also bring a reasonably sized canopy tent to set up in the event of inclement weather.
What your table rental gets you:
- A space to sell your gear at your selected MEC Gear Swap store
- A 6ft table and chair
- Access to a community of outdoor enthusiasts
How it works:
- Rent a table from us through the link
- Ensure your gently used gear is clean, organized, and clearly priced beforehand
- Arrive 30 minutes early to check in with a MEC staffer and find your reserved space. Please ensure you are set up and ready to welcome the community at 9am sharp
- Hang out at your table, sell (or swap) your outdoor gear, and connect with the community
Important notes:
- You are responsible for selling your own gear and must be present at your table for the duration of the event. Come prepared with the necessary change (if accepting cash) or an alternative payment method (i.e. square reader or e-transfer)
- Anyone with reserved tables at the MEC Gear Swap are not eligible for door crasher prizes on the day(s) they are selling gear
