Meander around the block - Photo Workshop

Come hang with Lyon for a 2-hour photography workshop where the only requirement is a phone camera and a willingness to look at stuff. You'll learn fundamental photography techniques, how to notice patterns when walking around the city, and connect with fellow creatives—no experience necessary.
No art degree needed. No fancy camera needed. If you can take a decent photo of your lunch, you're already qualified.

Lyon is a Baltimore-based teacher, designer, and photographer, inspired by his childhood in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He teaches motion graphics, 3D design, and special effects at the (MICA) Maryland Institute College of Art and (BSA) Baltimore School for the Arts. Growing up in Amsterdam, he learned to notice social interactions on the streets, a practice he continues in Baltimore during his daily commute. He exhibits regularly and is an active member of Baltimore's robust photography community.

Info: We'll explore inspiring photobooks together and cover fundamentals of composition, hierarchy, and light—practical techniques to help you shoot with intention and have fun doing it. At the end of this presentation, you'll receive a photo assignment to inspire you .

Info: We'll wander Upper Fells Point together inspired by our assignment, spotting patterns and capturing moments. Lyon will work with you individually to refine your framing and develop your eye.

Info: After our walk, we’ll take a look at your photos together and choose our favorites while enjoying a beverage at Meander.
