About this Event

This year's concert will feature a programme by the IPSA Collective, including the world premier of Fergus Hall's new work for soprano, flute, violin and percussion.

About Fergus Hall

Fergus is a musician, composer, multidisciplinary artist and music educator from the west of Scotland, currently based in Glasgow. His eclectic musical background, and his interest in cross-disciplinary collaboration, places him at the intersection of varied musical practices, particularly those of jazz, sound art, folk music, free improvisation and contemporary classical music. He is drawn to projects concerning the natural environment, ecologies, sustainability, and conservation particularly around the seas and coastlines of Scotland. From the bird colonies of St Kilda and the last great auk to argumentative humming birds, creatures found in rock pools and a eulogy for a dead whale, Fergus communicates his passion for the natural world through listening, empathy and a sense of joy.

They have also curated duo and trio performances of various players in the group, having performed in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, and the Republic of Ireland. The Night With Composer Development Scheme and Concert Tour features a soprano-flute-percussion trio from the Ipsa Collective comprised of Stephanie Lamprea, Richard Craig, and Darren Gallacher.
