About this Event
Mayworks joins ACTRA Toronto to present a special screening of two episodes from the acclaimed television series The Porter, followed by a conversation with co-creator Arnold Pinnock and cast members. Set against the rise of Black railway porters and the formation of North America’s first Black labour union, the series connects past struggles to today’s labour movement. Speakers will reflect on organizing, solidarity, and the ongoing fight for dignity and workers’ rights amid renewed union activism and precarity. Join us for an evening of film, history, and dialogue exploring labour’s enduring power and the continuing struggle for justice for working people.
This venue is wheelchair accessible and has gender neutral, wheelchair accessible washrooms. For requests, please email [email protected]
