Tumbao Salsa School and Boteco do Brasil are delighted to invite you to a live music and dance event with one of the most popular salsa orchestras from Cuba, as part of the Havana / Glasgow 20 year twinning anniversary celebration. We are pleased to confirm that Maykel Blanco Y Su Salsa Mayor, are coming to play in Glasgow on Sunday 28th August 2022.
We will be hosting this fabulous event at TWO VENUES.

Venue: The GARAGE, 490 Sauchiehall St, Glasgow G2 3LW.
The Garage is a live music venue and Scotland's largest nightclub, with a capacity of 700 people.
6.00pm - Doors open to the Public
6.30pm to 8pm DJs and Cuban Warm Up.
8.00pm to 10pm Maykel Blanco Y su Salsa Mayor.
10.30pm Curfew from the Garage

Our legendary Cuban Band!!
Maykel Blanco and his Salsa Mayor spun their way into the Havana music scene seventeen years ago and remains as one of the most popular Salsa bands in Cuba and around the world. Few days ago they played in Quito to an audience of 40,000 people.
Directed by the unequalled talent pianist, percussionist, composer, music producer, arranger and cultural promoter Maykel Blanco, the band has consistently produced hit after hit of highly danceable Cuban dance music.
Belonging to the generation of Cuban musicians who opted to defend the values of Cuban popular music, while continuing to renew it with a refreshing contemporary sound, Maykel Blanco y su Salsa Mayor, without a doubt, have achieved with their art and work occupy a prominent place of reference within the Cuban and international musical sphere.
In his career, Maykel Blanco has gifted us with themes such as: “Recoge y vete”, “Anda y pégate”, “Esto está”, “Siempre que llueve escampa”, “Mi mulata en la Habana”, “Soy lo que te hala”, “Chaca Chaca”, “Ya tú no coronas”, “Te escapaste”, “Tremenda pinta and many more that have been on the list of national and international radio and television hits.
