Song Experiment is a monthly song lab hosted by Cassie Norton to provide songwriters a venue for explorations into different approaches to song-writing, instrumentation, arrangement or all three. Each month, a different artist/s and approach is featured welcoming surprise and collaboration.
Drawing/colouring supplies and big banner paper will be provided for all doodlers, so you can collaborate too!
This month features a small group of seniors and kids (aged 6 - 9) who participated in a collaborative workshop presented by Musical Story Studio with the support of the Toronto Arts Council and the Toronto Public Libraries.
The seniors shaped personal stories and the kids wrote songs about those stories. We then integrated the songs with the stories and created a performance.
The workshop finished in February, but we were so happy with the stories and songs that came out of it that we wanted to share it with a wider audience. We hope that you can come out and enjoy it with us.
