The evening will feature two panels of distinguished leaders, each bringing a unique perspective on risk, investment, strategy, and executive decision-making:

Panelist #1: Asif Haque - Chief Investment Officer, CAAT

Asif Haque is the Chief Investment Officer at CAAT Pension Plan. He is a seasoned investment professional who leads a team that manages the Plan's investment portfolio. The team's objective is to generate sufficient investment returns to keep pension benefits secure. 

Asif is Chair of the Pension Investment Association of Canada's Board of Directors, and also serves as a Director on the Board of the Canadian Coalition for Good Governance. He is a member of the Investment Committee at the Alberta PSPP Corporation, and is a member of the Investment Advisory Committee at Nunavut Tunngavik, Inc. 

Asif holds a BA in economics from Wilfrid Laurier University, an MA in economics from the University of Toronto, and is a CFA Charterholder.

Panelist # 2: Dani Goraichy - Chief Risk Officer, OPTrust

Dani Goraichy is the Chief Risk Officer and Senior Vice President of Actuarial Services and Plan Policy at OPTrust. In this role, he is responsible for investment risk, enterprise risk, compliance and the interpretation of the OPSEU Pension Plan text and monitoring of regulatory changes. His responsibilities also include providing actuarial support for the administration and funding decisions of the Plan and supporting asset liability modeling.

Prior to joining OPTrust in 2010, Dani was a consulting actuary for many public and private sector pension plans for over 10 years. He has served as chair of the Designated Group examining meaningful stress testing of pension plans for the Canadian Institute of Actuaries.

A frequent speaker on the subject of plan design and funding, Dani is a fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and the Society of Actuaries and has an MBA from the Ivey School of Business.

Panelist #3: Tom McCullough - Founder and Chairman, Northwood Family Office

Tom McCullough is Founder and Chairman of Northwood Family Office. Northwood looks after the integrated wealth needs of ultra-high net worth families - including planning, investments, wealth administration, and family dynamics and governance.

He is a frequent speaker on issues relevant to families of wealth and is the co-author of three books — Wealth of Wisdom: The Top 50 Questions Wealthy Families Ask, Wealth of Wisdom: Top Practices for Wealthy Families and Their Advisors, and Family Wealth Management: 7 Imperatives for Successful Investing.

He is an adjunct professor and executive-in-residence at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management, a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Wealth Management, and a member of the board and faculty of the Ultra High Net Worth Institute. He was awarded ‘Best Individual Contribution to Thought Leadership in the Wealth Management Industry (North America)’ at the 2020 Family Wealth Report Awards.

Afnan Attia is Senior Director of Strategy & Corporate Development at TELUS Health, where she leads initiatives focused on growth, partnerships, and long-term business transformation in the healthcare sector. She brings extensive experience from previous leadership roles at LifeWorks, Morneau Shepell, and Finastra, as well as a background in investment banking with Canaccord Genuity. Beyond her corporate work, Afnan serves on the Board of Directors at Islamic Relief Canada and is the co-founder of The Female Finance Project, an initiative dedicated to financial education and empowerment for women.

Panelist #2: Raheel Janjua - Managing Director, Active Equities, CPP Investments

Raheel Janjua leads the Investment Science & Active Equities team at CPP Investments, where he applies advanced quantitative methods, data science, and portfolio analytics to enhance global investment decision-making and long-term value creation. With deep expertise in financial modeling and strategic investment analysis, he plays a pivotal role in shaping CPP Investments’ approach to performance optimization.

Panelist #3: Ashfaq Qadri – Managing Director, Diversified Industrials & Business Services, Private Capital, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (OTPP)

Ashfaq Qadri is Managing Director at OTPP’s Private Capital division, where he leads investing in middle-market industrials and business services. With over a decade of experience in private equity and investment banking, his portfolio oversight spans sectors including manufacturing, logistics, energy, and services. Prior to joining OTPP in 2016, Ashfaq held senior positions at Morgan Stanley Private Equity—both as Vice President in New York and London, and earlier in the Investment Banking division in New York—bringing deep expertise in deal execution and strategic structuring. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Amherst College, with a double major in Computer Science and Economics. Ashfaq also serves on the boards of several OTPP portfolio companies, including Trivium Packaging, TricorBraun, The AZEK Company, Stone Canyon Industries Holdings, Kanata Energy Group, and Hawkwood Energy.
