Dive into to the whimsical world of two celebrated children's book authors
About this Event

Join celebrated children’s book creators Max Lang and Suzanne Lang for a lively, interactive read-along designed for young readers and their grown-ups. Together, they will read Grumpy Monkey Mom for a Day and Archibald and the Furry Dinosaurs, bringing humor, heart, and high-energy storytelling to the stage.

From the relatable family antics of everyone’s favorite grumpy monkey to the imaginative adventure of furry dinosaurs, this joyful session invites kids to laugh, participate, and experience stories read the way they were meant to be heard—straight from their creators.

Following the reading, families will enjoy a brief Q&A and book signing. A delightful celebration of creativity, feelings, and imagination for readers of all ages.

We are delighted to welcome you to the Reagan Room at the Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort.

This event is offered free and open to the public through the generous support of our partners at the Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort.

Suzanne Lang is the author of the New York Times bestselling Grumpy Monkey books as well as several other titles. When she’s not writing books, Suzanne writes for animation. When she’s not doing that, she hangs out with her very funny kids, feeds her many pets, and tries (but usually fails) to take a nap!

Max Lang has illustrated over twenty books, including all the titles in the Grumpy Monkey series. When he's not making books, he makes films. He has co-directed several animated movies, including The Snail and the WhaleZogRoom on the Broom, and The Gruffalo. He has received three BAFTAs, two Emmys, two Oscar nominations, and many other honors for his film work. In his spare time, he tries to make his kids laugh at dad jokes, and when he inevitably fails, he takes his dogs for a walk.
