The Christian Altar represents Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God sacrificed for us (Revelation 5:6), and the Stripping of the Altar reminds us how the Lord Jesus entered into our darkness, was betrayed by Judas Iscariot, arrested, tried, stripped of His garments, exposed naked to the insults of His accusers, scourged, and crucified by the Romans (Matthew 17:33-36, Mark 15:24, John 19:23-24).
