Maundy Thursday celebrates and commemorates Christ’s institution of the Eucharist at the Last Supper with his disciples, as well as his service to them through washing their feet.
The Maundy Thursday service concludes with the both beautiful and stark action of the Stripping of the Altar. Members of the Altar Guild work together to remove any and all decorations from the sanctuary, in order to prepare for Good Friday.
