Simply, he is a singer-songwriter, who’s also known for his incredible guitar playing abilities, writing songs that draw from personal inspirations, incorporating elements of blues, rock, southern rock, and old school country in to his repertoire. Alongside a ton of headline dates across the U.S., and isolated appearances overseas, Matthew Curry has had the honor of touring with the Doobie Brothers, Steve Miller Band, Peter Frampton, Journey, Don Felder (of the Eagles), and others. Steve Miller articulated his thoughts about the left handed guitar slinger to Ultimate Classic Rock offering, "..,wonderful guitar player [and] great songwriter in the Stevie Ray Vaughan area of virtuosity and originality." While Peter Frampton shared to 96.5 The Fox, "... someone asked me in an interview today if I thought there could be anymore guitar heroes. Well, hell yes of course and Matthew is one who will prove that to be true.”Curry was born and raised in Bloomington Illinois and began playing guitar at the age of four with encouragement from his father. He began playing live performances at the age of eight and by eleven, the young guitarist was fronting his own band and beginning his songwriting career. His first album “If I Don’t Got You” was released in 2012 followed by “Electric Religion” (2014), “Shine On” (2016), and “Open Road” (2019). In 2015, Curry made his debut on the big screen with his roll as the late Ronnie Van Zant of Lynyrd Skynyrd in “Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser”, acting alongside comedy legend, David Spade. Throughout his adult life, Curry has toured and released music consistently amazing audiences all over the world with his fiery guitar playing and soulful vocals.
