Singer songwriter Matt MacKelcan has emerged from the southeast with a genuine combination of American soul and folk rock. Matt’s trademarks are a big voice, authentic songwriting, personable nature and an extra dose of funny. He has toured all over America and performed at major festivals/events throughout the country.

Matt has toured and performed with artists such as Matt Nathanson, Martin Sexton, Eric Hutchinson, Corey Smith, Andrew McMahon, Blues Traveler.

MacKelcan released EP "Hearts Wide Open" fall 2024 (Vere Music/ADA). "Memories and Hand Me Downs" was featured on Apple Music Editorial Playlist- and "Keep Me From Dreaming" and "Hearts Wide Open" are gaining adds and have received critical acclaim. He has a run of dates in July supporting comedian/actor/musician Paul Reiser (Mad About You, Stranger Things)

He currently is in the studio with producer Craig Meyer (producer of "Hearts Wide Open" and Rachel Platten, Brendan James) and excited to get back on the road.

Matt released LP From Where I Stand produced by Aaron Tap (Matt Nathanson) has garnered critical acclaim and radio adds with singles “Drive “ “Plans” and “Here’s to the Night”. It debuted in the top 40 Singer/Songwriter on the iTunes Charts. Since the LP, Matt has released a string of singles, including "Worth the Wait" (over 140, 000 spotify plays) and live recordings that have been well received and continue to grow his audience.

Matt lives in Charleston, SC and proudly supports Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, National Brian Tumor Society and Pet Helpers .
