The University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business presents "The Cybersecurity Certification" course. The online course facilitates a learning environment where professionals can reinforce their knowledge of Cybersecurity with an emphasis on pragmatic execution that is founded on Cybersecurity “Use-case based Decision Making” principals rather than the more conventional “Tools-based” approach.
Throughout the course participants will continuously learn all aspects of good “Security Hygiene” using concepts that are identified in the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800-171 Revision 2, and required for all US Defense Suppliers, per the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), along with other concepts that are considered “Industry-wide Accepted Best Practice(s)”

Mr. Edmonds has nearly 30 years in the Information Assurance field, with (mis)adventures tracing back to the late 1970s. His professional experience includes the design and implementation of large scale IP(4/6) carrier grade networks, and holistic security solutions dealing with networks spanning multiple continents, site counts in the tens of thousands, and endpoint counts in the millions in both the private sector and within the Defense, Counterintelligence and Counter-terrorism communities of the US Federal Government .Mr. Edmonds’ range of experience with network technologies includes corporate, local and wide area networks, including Zero Trust, Zero-Clear, 802.1x, PKI (including CP and CPS development), co-location/Cloud and enterprise physical, environmental, network, systems, and application designs and implementations. He is a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator/Engineer (MCSA/MCSE), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), ForeScout certified, and others. Ernie has successfully led some of the largest infrastructure and cloud datacenter deployments in the world as Technical & Product leads. Successful compliance programs include acting in the roles of Primary Assessor/AO/Consultant and Senior Information Assurance Architect, Policy and Technical Standards Developer, and Cyber Security SME. Mr. Edmonds has co-authored policy documents such as the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) 4300A (Sensitive Systems) and DHS 4300B (National Security Systems) and was primary author of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) 1400-3 Security Policy. Mr. Edmonds has also authored and published dozens of Standard Operating Procedures and Security Hardening Guides for Federal agencies/departments and over 100 IA Technical Standards documents. Mr. Edmonds has been deemed an Expert in Digital/Cyber Forensics in multiple court jurisdictions and was a key resource on the team that developed Federal Desktop Core Configuration(s) (FDCC) for the US Federal Government.
