About this Event
Get ready to create festive edible art that looks almost too good to eat at our Marzipan Fruits workshop for adults!
Join Willow Bough Tea Rooms for an evening of festive fun making your own box of the traditinoal Christmas treat - marzipan fruits.
Clare and Ieva will guide you through colouring, shaping, and finishing your fruits which you can take home to enjoy or gift to a friend or loved one.
Clare has been running Willow Bough Tea Rooms and Catering for almost a decade, using her grandmother's recipes and techniques to make her traditional cakes and afternoon teas.
Ieva drew and painted her way through her childhood in Lithuania before going on to study art at the prestigious Lithuanian Art Academy in Kaunas. Shortly after she moved to the United States to continue her art studies, completing a degree in Graphic Design and Visual Communication. After 15 years’ experience as a graphic designer, Ieva wanted to share her knowledge and so studied to practice as a Montessori Directress. Ieva opened Bee Creative Art Hub in 2017, teaching adults and children art and craft, and has since exhibited her work in various galleries and venues across London and the South East.
Merton Abbey Mills is a corner of south west London with a fascinating history and connection to arts and crafts. Sitting on the River Wandle, once London’s hardest working river, Merton Abbey Mills was once home to Liberty’s Print Works, with William Morris’s textile and design company based just a short walk up the river (now Colliers Wood High Street). Today Merton Abbey Mills is full of creatives and independent businesses.
