They laid the foundations for the Polish sound system scene. True to their motto, "School of Heavy Dance," their sets are embellished with a dub-infused, punk-inspired dynamics.
DJ Bass Reprodukktor Xiądz Maken I is not only a music selector, MC, and stage performer, but also a music promoter and journalist: formerly of Czwórka, now Trójka (The main channel of The Polish National Radio), where he hosts the weekly "Strefa Dread" radio show promoting reggae, dub and around. He's responsible for organizing Polish concerts for hundreds of international reggae/world artists and has worked for years at events such as the Ostróda Reggae Festival. He hails from Zgorzelec, where he founded Joint Venture Sound System in 1988 and organized legendary alternative events. Today, he co-creates the Soundsystem Street Festival there.
Mario Activator is one of Poland's most experienced sound specialists. For years, he has been the sound engineer and producer for Kapela Ze Wsi Warszawa (Warsaw Village Band) and Vavamuffin. He has worked live and in the studio with almost all the big names in the Polish reggae and world music scene, and traveled the world on his musical mission. Working with Studio As One and solo, he is responsible for numerous significant releases. He has also released remix compilations: "Activator Mario Dziurex - Remixes" and "Studio As One: Dub Side of As 1". He works as dub master at JVSS parties.
Maken and Activator together co-produced the pioneering compilation series "Dub out of Poland" and the collection of Kapela Ze Wsi Warszawa remixes "Wymixowanie".
Joint Venture Sound System has played hundreds of events throughout the country and abroad (France, Great Britain, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania, Germany, Russia).
Despite the passage of 38 years, this adventure is still going on – as long as there are people willing to dance together on the path of the warrior.

First launched in 1994 in Szklarska Poręba. Its creator and initiator is DJ Jasiek from Zgorzelec. Over the past 30 years, he has organized hundreds of events. His selection is a unique blend of reggae, ska, and electronic beats, a sound system mix with a touch of Jamaican rhythms, productions from electro-dub labels, and drum & bass sounds.
Kosmos Mega Sound System has long been one of the most important reggae promoters in Szklarska Poręba and the surrounding area. It is characterized by a multi-genre selection and recognizable microphone moderation.
It is also one of the first Polish sound systems with its own sound system.

JABBADUB

Jabbadub just don’t stop - performing regular events means shaping their sound, already become a trademark in Polish dub.
Jabbadub is a project founded in 2006 by Dino Dub Selector, whose style can be described as bass music. They were the first artist in this country to play live original compositions from multitrack, using live dub mix, enchanced by MC Mista B's toasting. They were featured on the prestigious compilation "Dub Out of Poland" and have released several albums and singles on the Paproota.org Dub Netlabel labe , co-founded by them. They also collaborate with the French label ODG Prod, well-known to all dubheads. They have played hundreds of sound system sessions and concerts throughout Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Lithuania and Ukraine. All productions, recordings and remixes are created in the Astral Studio founded by them in Wrocław. Their first vinyl album "Steppa" had a wide resonance, as did the next black disc "Temple" EP (2023), including, among the others, MC Polishman, Dubayaga and a brass section. In November 2024 they played a mini tour in France.
