Marion Rexx Performing Arts Society is a safe gathering place to support unique and off-the-beaten-track flinta* artists. The aims, via performance, are to enjoy the arts, learn about sexual & reproductive health, social issues, share in an exchange, and grow as people and artists.
Where did the name Marion Rexx come from?
The name Marion:
History: of French origin and a variant of the Latin for Mary, "star of the sea”. Historic parallels exist between the Virgin Mary, archaic goddesses, and Mother Earth.
The word Rex(x):
Meaning: ruling king, Latin - play on words with the symbol of the female chromosome **.
The Marion Rexx crown symbolizes the ultimate matriarch, nurturing artistic lights and raising community awareness.

Mangetsu:
Mangetsu is a multi-instrumentalist, artist, architect, and founder of post-punk-J-pop projects such as Moshi-Moshi Box and Mionmoon. Having fallen in love with the captivating sound of the Koto, it has become increasingly important in her work. For this Marion Rexx event, she demonstrates her fascination with the ancient Japanese instrument via a solo performance of traditional and contemporary pieces in concertante mode.

Flo David Razoux:
Flo David Razoux (they/them) is a queer biologist, creator and educator with a PhD in Neurosciences & Biomedical Engineering. Flo likes to explore beyond the established representations, and is fascinated by the notion of identity, perception, and the interconnections between the matter and the mind. Their work bridges science, artivism, transmedia, design and technology, and was presented in Europe and in Berlin’s institutions such as the Haus der Kulturen der Welt, MONOM Berlin Center for Spatial Sound and most recently the Maxim Gorki Theater. Flo is the creator of the Lumenses and Zweigeist Berlin projects.

Hazel Iris:
Hazel Iris is a classically trained Art Pop singer driven by ancient tales and ethereal sounds. Obsessed with history and books, the threads of female empowerment and the connection to nature are intrinsic to her soundscapes. Shimmering synth wave and psychedelic dream pop are fused to deconstruct the classical concept of Lieder and establish a captivatingly dystopian atmosphere.
