About this Event
The City of Philadelphia, will experience an extraordinary MARCUS GARVEY “BLACK EXCELLENCE” Award & celebration, on Sunday October 20th 2024, at Taj Mahal – 2613 Hunting Park Avenue, Philadelphia PA 19140.
This elite / prestigious award, will be presentend to awardees, locally / internationallly in the areas of academic / entrepreneurial / sports / entertainment / religion and culture, who has excelled as significant element of “BLACK EXCELLENCE”.
"MARCUS GARVEY LIFETIME AWARD OF EXCELLENCE", is regarded as the highest symbolic virtue, in recognition of "BLACK EXCELLENCE / ACHIEVEMENT" internationally.
Our objective is sustain the leadership qualities of our "Living Heroes / Heroine" and present to them, accolades earned, during their lifetime contribution, in the development of “BLACK EXCELLENCE” in our communities / Cities / and Countries.
A percentage of the funds raised from this event, will be used to erect a full statue of Honorable Marcus Mosiah Garvey, in the City of Philadelphia Pennsylvania. To commemorate Honorable Marcus Garvey’s journey to Philadelphia Pennsylvania in 1919, where 30,000 people met him upon arrival at the train station, after the failed assination atemp in Harlem New York.
A cultural celebration of all Caribbean / African states, come out and celebrate the rich historical legacy of Honorable MARCUS MOSIAH GARVEY - JAMAICA'S 1st NATIONAL HERO / FOUNDER & PRESIDENT OF UNIA-ACL.
