May 1 is international workers day: a day of international solidarity supporting workers throughout the world fighting to for their rights. The Australian trade union movement has a proud history of standing against apartheid in South Africa and in solidarity with past struggles of workers in many countries. However, it has not done nearly enough to hold the Albanese Labor government responsible for its complicity in Israel's genocide in Gaza and the expanding war in the Middle East.
This May Day, come join the Palestine solidarity contingent and march through Fremantle streets with us to call for real action by the Australian government, including an arms embargo, breaking diplomatic ties and imposing trade sanctions on Israel.
Friends of Palestine WA (FOPWA) will have an information stall at May Day, from 10am at Fremantle Esplanade.
Meet at 11.30am at our stall to be ready to march at 12noon.
