The March Erie Torch Club Meeting will be on Wednesday March 4 at the Erie Yacht Club. Cash bar at 6 PM and dinner at 6:30 PM.
$32 per meal cash or check made out to the Erie Yacht Club payable at the door. Deadline for reservations and choice of entree is 5 PM Friday, February 27. Please respect the deadline. A reminder that no shows for dinner will be billed for the cost of the meal.
Our dinner will be a choice of two entrees: either Mediterranean Stuffed Pork Loin with Bruschetta Sauce or Parmesan Breaded Cod with Lemon Butter Sauce, with Spinach Salad with Warm Bacon Dressing, Baby New Potatoes with Parsley Butter, Broccoli, Carrot & Cauliflower Medley, Banana Cream Pie, and rolls and butter, tea and coffee.
Our speaker will be Marcus Atkinson, Bachelor of Business Administration.
Marcus is a prominent community leader, media producer, and consultant in Erie, Pennsylvania, widely recognized for his work in social equity, nonprofit development, and storytelling through multimedia platforms. He is a native of Erie, Pennsylvania, and a graduate of Strong Vincent High School. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Clayton State University in Atlanta, Georgia, where he spent over a decade in political and community organizing, experiences that shaped his commitment to bridging racial, cultural, and economic divides. He is the Managing Partner of M. Atkinson & Associates, a consulting firm specializing in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), nonprofit capacity building, and minority business development. Additionally, he owns BlaXcess Media, a production company focused on elevating diverse voices and community narratives. Marcus was chosen to lead a transition team as the center looks for new leadership following the unexpected passing of Executive Director James Sherrod. Atkinson will oversee the center’s programs and community initiatives while the board of directors begins a formal search for the next executive director.
