Dates and Times of the Event: Friday May 8th
– Sunday May 10th. Friday arrival gates open and
check-in begins at 4:00 PM. Classes will occur on Saturday. Sunday departure time is approximately
9:00 AM for those who will be camping.
General Description of the Event: MAPS will host an Aviation Merit Badge Campout for Scouts BSA Scouts will participate in (8) 40-minute classes on Saturday to complete the merit badge
participants. requirements.
Special Attractions: MAPS will create activity stations, led by MAPS instructors, that provide an educational experience and meet the requirements for earning the Aviation Merit Badge. Space for tent camping will be provided onsite at MAPS for overnight campers.
Troops are welcome but not required to camp overnight to participate in the Saturday classes. Please indicate on your registration form if you will be “Saturday-only” participants.
Admission Pricing: Admission will be $10 for each Scout and Adult attending. Two Adult leaders for each troop will be admitted free. Pricing is the same whether you choose to camp overnight or just attend Saturday classes.
Registration: Attendance is limited for this event due to class size restrictions. Your registration will only be confirmed once I receive a completed registration form AND payment for expected attendees. I will send you a confirming email that you are officially registered after I receive your entry. MAPS does not refund payments for registered attendees who do not attend. I recommend doing a survey of your Scouts/Adults and send in a confident estimate of attendees with your payment. In this way, you will have your registration and space reserved. If space permits, you can later request to add slightly to your total attendees. If you are definitely planning to attend but still determining attendance, send an email to me ([email protected]), providing your Troop #, contact name, and email, with a guestimated headcount and I will place you on the “interested” list. Once you have a firm headcount
estimate, send in the completed registration form and payment to confirm your registration. Recognize that registration is “first come, first serve” based upon my receipt of registration and payment.
